Account information: When you register, we collect your name, email address, and password (stored as a secure hash). Sellers additionally provide a shop name, location, bio, and contact phone number.

Order information: When you place an order, we collect your name, phone number, email address, and any note you include for the seller. We also record the items ordered, quantities, and total amount.

Payment details: Sellers may voluntarily add UPI IDs, payment handles (GPay, PhonePe, Paytm), bank account details, and a UPI QR code image to their seller profile so buyers can pay them directly. We store this information to display it at checkout. We do not process card payments or store card numbers.

Subscription payments: When you subscribe to a plan, we collect your name, phone number, and the UTR (Unique Transaction Reference) of your UPI payment for manual verification.

Usage data: We may collect standard server logs including IP addresses, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps to maintain platform security and performance.

Cookies: We use essential session cookies to keep you logged in. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

Order fulfilment: We share your name, phone, email, and order details with the relevant seller so they can prepare and deliver your order.

Communication: We may contact you by email or phone regarding your orders, account, subscription status, or important platform updates.

Subscription management: We use your payment submission details to manually verify UPI transfers and activate your subscription plan.

Cashback: If you hold a Nikol Plus membership, we use your registered email to match orders and credit cashback to your wallet automatically.

Platform improvement: Aggregated, anonymised usage data helps us understand how the marketplace is used and improve our features.

Security: We use account and log data to detect fraud, abuse, and unauthorised access.

Account data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you request deletion, we will remove your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or financial compliance purposes.

Order records are retained for a minimum of 3 years for accounting and dispute resolution purposes.

Subscription payment records (including UTR references) are retained for 5 years in accordance with financial record-keeping requirements.

Access: You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you at any time.

Correction: You may update your account information directly from your profile settings, or contact us to correct inaccurate data.

Deletion: You may request that we delete your account and associated personal data, subject to our retention obligations.

Portability: You may request your data in a structured, machine-readable format.

Seller-buyer sharing: Your order details (name, phone, email, items) are shared with the seller fulfilling your order. This is necessary for order delivery.

Service providers: We may share data with trusted service providers who assist us in operating the platform (e.g., hosting, email delivery). These providers are contractually bound to protect your data and may not use it for their own purposes.

Legal requirements: We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of our users or the public.

We use strictly necessary session cookies to authenticate your login and maintain your session. These cookies are deleted when you sign out or close your browser.

We use a local-storage cart to remember items you have added before checkout. This data stays on your device and is not transmitted to our servers until you place an order.

We do not use analytics, advertising, or social-media tracking cookies.

We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed password storage, and access controls to protect your personal data.

Payment details entered by sellers (UPI IDs, bank details) are stored in our database and accessible only to the seller and to the buyer at the point of checkout for a specific order.

While we take reasonable precautions, no system is completely secure. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password and to contact us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
